This is the deal ... its late at night ... everyone is sleeping, and I should be too. The alarm will go off early in the morning ... and a long, busy day will greet me. Yet, instead of going to bed I somehow end up in my craft room. And instead of sleeping, I end up crafting ....

{Skies} Lately I have been obsessed with skies. I'm mesmerized by the blues and the white fluffy clouds and by how large the sky really is. Mylie and I often wonder what the clouds must feel like.
I'm not sure if my awareness of the sky prompted me to get a super wide angle lens, or if thinking about getting a super wide angle prompted me to take notice of the sky ... either way, I certainly had fun testing out my new 12-24 f/4 lens at Yellowstone Park last week!

{Trouble}
I love this boy with all my heart, I really do. But he is trouble!!! Real trouble, like throw eggs on the kitchen floor trouble, color the dog with sidewalk chalk trouble, shake all the diet cokes in the fridge trouble, dump dog food out on the kitchen floor trouble ... you get the point.

But then, he looks at me with those BIG brown eyes and says, MOMMA, and it is all over. Or he grabs my face and pulls it close to his for a kiss, sigh, something about a momma and her baby boy.

{Happy}
This is my $5 bouquet of happiness. They are beautiful and bright yellow and smell good. They have a dual purpose ... of course to brighten my kitchen, and for pictures. What a concept ... taking a picture of something that doesn't run away from me. Hmmmm.

{Easter pictures, take 1}
A few days ago, Mylie and I did a couple trial run on our Easter pictures. It was noon, windy and she was hungry, so we didn't last too long. And our grass is still brown with the only green being a few weeds sprouting in the background. And frankly, my editing skills leave something to be desired (thanks goodness for Jess' actions!). But even with all that, I keep coming back to this picture. I love her new dress, her parasol, mostly I just love her.

{Sometimes its tough to be a kid!}
It was a busy day with lots of activities. Sometimes I admit I try to fit a week worth of fun on my days off. We went to storytime at the library this morning and then out to lunch with some friends. We had a playdate later in the afternoon, so we snuck home for a bit in hopes that Blakey would take a little nap. He was not on board with this and kept sneaking out of bed. You know how it is, when kids need a nap most is when they are least likely to take it!
Finally there was quiet from his room. Phew. Mylie peeked in his room and then came out and said, "Mom, you have to see this and bring your camera." Poor tired little Blake snuck out of bed but only made it as far as his Elmo chair. Apparently he was overcome with tiredness at that point, and crashed, sound asleep in his chair. This boy makes me laugh, even when he is sleeping.

Thursday was our last day in Disneyland. Actually, we had planned to leave Wednesday, we weren't aware our tickets were for 3 days, we thought they were only for 2. When we found out they were for 3 days, we still thought we would probably only stay until Wednesday, it was a long drive home to Idaho, but the magic got us, and we stayed for part of the day on Thursday. It was a great last few hours. It was a great trip. Perfect, in fact!

Farewell my friend! Today I upgraded my camera to a D80. I feel silly that I am kind of emotional about selling this camera to Courtney. I love it! It sparked my passion for photography, it saw me through post partum depression, it has been my friend!

Phew! They stayed on the nice list. We had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas. I didn't get out of my pajamas all day long.

One of my favorite things to do at Christmastime is go to the Winter Garden Aglow. It is held at the gardens of the old pennitentiary. My great-grandpa was the warden there and my grandma lived there as a child. It is so beautiful with all the lights. I love it. We went with Alicia and the boys this year. Super fun!

An early Christmas dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Matt and Aunt Shawnna. Mylie is a big fan of taking pictures.
