Max is spending the night tonight. Now I realize it looks like at 9:35 p.m. these two angels are sound asleep, but no, look closer, see that little smirk on Mylie's face? They were totally faking it! It was after 10:30 before they fell asleep. They are so funny ... at least 6 times tonight I heard them talking about how they are best friends! Awwwwww.

Blake after lunch, I ran to grab the camera because he was half asleep in his highchair. Of course, once he saw the camera he had to pose. What a goofball!

1/28/09

{Taken quickly with my point and shoot camera - boy I can sure tell the difference.} This is what greets me in the morning when I go downstairs. Mylie has usually been in my bed watching cartoons for an hour or so before Bubba wakes up. He is always excited to see us ... he squeals and jumps. Then Mylie searches under his crib to find the binky he threw in the night. Love my two kiddos!

{A crappy picture} but a farewell to my pink RAZR. This phone has served me well, logged days of talk time, but I'm afraid its days are coming to an end. The battery was almost nearly dead and I just haven't gotten around to replacing it. Then I let Blake play with it in the store on Saturday and he threw it and now the screen doesn't work, sigh. A new phone is on my to-do list this month. This one has served me well for way over two years. Good-bye friend.

Tonight I asked Jeff what I should take a picture of and he suggested his foot. So here is his nasty foot and funny story to go along with it. Last week at his sparring (martial arts) class he rolled his ankle, it still looks like this today. The funny story is that this morning I was telling Mylie that Daddy would pick her up after his wrestling class (that is what she calls it). She gasped and asked if Daddy's wrinkle still hurt. "His what?" I asked her. "His wrinkle Mom, he hurt it at wrestling class lasterday." So apparently when you are 4, wrinkle=ankle.

This picture was taken from my back window today. I was so thrilled to finally see blue skies. We have had an inversion for the last two weeks and we haven't seen blue skies or the sun. My soul was lifted today!

1/24/09

Mylie did some scrapbooking tonight while I was trying to organize my scrapbook room. She was so excited to make me this card. She made one for Jeff and Blake also. I love sharing a hobby with her.

1/23/09

I got my scrap stuff all packed up tonight. Our church was having a girl's night out and we planned on setting up an area for crafts. I was the only one who brought any projects, so I just ended up visiting and playing games ... but it made me really want to scrapbook!

My kids were seriously in bed and asleep by 6:20 tonight. Yep, it was that kind of day. {I always wondered why we had such early bedtimes when we were kids. Now I know.} Jeff is at a basketball game with his Dad and I really am not sure what I am going to do with myself, the possibilities are endless! Jeff suggested chores before he left and I politely reminded him that he didn't marry me for my housekeeping abilities.

1/21/09

This is part of my snowman village, yep its still up {along with other decorations}. When Mylie was a baby I finally got the village down when I put up Easter decorations. Really, its on my to-do list this weekend.

1/20/09

This was an amazing day. Someday my kids and grandkids will read about this in history books and I watched it. My kid's world will be forever changed.

Guess who faces forward now and loves it? Love this boy.

1/18/09

Today after church we had lunch and then Blake went down for a nap. Jeff had to go into work for a couple hours, so I convinced Mylie to come upstairs and take a nap with me. I can't think of the last time I had a real Sunday nap, but figured it was worth a try. I slept like a baby, but apparently she didn't. I found this sticker on my forehead when I woke up, which leads me to believe that she had a grand old time while I was asleep. I guess I get a gold (actually green) star for napping!

1/17/09

I was planning on taking a picture of my new, cute storage ottoman for my picture of the day today. Mylie insisted on being in the picture too. Doesn't take much to twist my arm.

Hello friend. Jeff and I have gone through two bottles in the last week. Ugh. {Secretly, I love it.}

1/15/09

Just playing around this afternoon with my 50 1.8 lens trying to master manual focus (my 50 mm won't autofocus on my Nikon D40 camera). It is not so easy to manual focus with little ones! Does it look terribly OOF? I wish I wouldn't have cut her chin off. I also wish I would have set CWB (which I have been trying to do lately) since the walls in her room are purple.
Settings:
aperture: 2.8
shutter speed: 1/8 second
ISO: 200
focal length: 50 mm
Any pointers would be much appreciated. TIA. It's pretty much SOOC, just an unsharp mask filter.

Seriously, I love this show. Jeff and the kids got me the first season for my birthday and so we watched it last night. I giggled a lot. It seems even funnier now that Jeff is in a managment position, there is a lot of truth to that show!

1/13/09

Certainly not the most attractive picture, but when I got home from work around 8:30 tonight and realized I still needed to take a picture, my poor sore feet just called to the camera. It was a loooong day at work today. I don't wear heels as often as I used to, but did today as I was presenting at a training all afternoon and had court tonight. Ten hours later, my feet hurt, my ankles are swollen and my pink slippers are calling my name.

1/12/09

Happy Birthday to me! Jeff and the kids bought me new dishes for my birthday. Yay! Mylie and I picked them out today and here is almost the whole stack. We had to get a raincheck on one green set and two yellow sets. I'm so excited!

1/11/09

Since we went to Max's birthday party we stayed Saturday night at my parent's house which gave me the chance to have birthday lunch on Sunday with my parents and both of my Grandpas. Jeff snapped this picture for me with me, the kids and both of my Grandpas. They are both 83 years old, born 9 days apart, born in the same town and are both WWII vetrans. I love spending time with them.

1/10/09

My nephew Max had his 5th birthday party on Saturday. It was his first party with friends. He told his mom, "I just really want Mylie to come." I couldn't resist his request and we drove 3 hours on Saturday to be there. He and Mylie are the best little buddies!

Mylie heading out with Daddy to go birthday shopping for me. She said I can't look under her bed.

1/8/09

*Sigh* I may spend a bit too much time here. {Also known as "Oh crap! It's 9:30 and only 8 days into the year, I can't miss a day already! Quick, what can I take a picture of? Oh yes, this computer on my lap."}

1/7/09

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. A happy hour diet coke with crushed ice can make even an afternoon at work seem wonderful!

1/6/09

Tuesdays have kind of turned into Subway nights at our house. I typically work late on Tuesdays (usually until 8:30). Jeff gets the kids fed, bathed and to bed and I pick up $5 footlongs. Pretty good deal!

1/5/09

Yep, we got snow today. She could not wait to help Daddy shovel tonight. She may have thrown a few snowballs too.

1/4/09

This evening Mylie and I decided to do a bit of scrapbooking. She and I went to Archiver's the other day and she picked out a cute little album for herself. We haven't downloaded the pictures from her camera yet, but I had extra copies of some pictures. She was so proud of herself and must have looked through her book at least 4 times with both Jeff and I. I love sharing this hobby with her.

1/3/09

This is from 2:45 this morning and is a lovely picture of a space heater outside Mylie's room because our furnace went out and it got down to 12 degrees last night. Seriously, why can't things break on Tuesdays at 2 in the afternoon instead of Fridays at 9 p.m? It was the beginning of my "terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day." Let's just say that our furnace is working now and our house is warm again (thank goodness), but that it was my flash money that paid for it. I'll admit it, I cried a few times today.

1/2/09

The kids and I went to Sam's Club today and when I got home and was putting the groceries away I realized that today is likely the last time I will ever buy baby formula.

1/1/09

Because seriously, how could I not pick this picture for today? Jeff dug out the push toy and Blakey is loving walking across the living room. He is so proud of himself. I think this little dude will be walking soon, yikes!
